But just because you’ll have to wear a cast for the next few weeks doesn’t mean your personal style has to go out the window. Looking fabulous with a cast doesn’t have to be difficult, it just takes a little planning and preparation. Here are some ideas that can help you stay stylish and cool during your transition.

wear dresses: Women often tend to use the six weeks or so their leg is in a cast to walk around in sweat pants all the time. But just because you have a broken leg doesn’t mean you have to walk around like a homeless person. In fact, wearing a dress may be more comfortable for you. Wear dresses that are easy to put on and take off, like a cute shirt dress that swings all the way, or a flowy summer dress. Since you probably won’t be able to get around much, order some dresses in bulk online and have them delivered right to your door.

Accessorize: Accessories are a fun and easy way to add some style to your look without having to do much. Tuck an elegant belt around your shirt dress, wear a charm bracelet on your ankle (on your other foot), layer beaded necklaces, put your hair in a braid and tie it up in a bow, and stock up on hair accessories like headbands, feathers, and assorted barrettes. These are just a few examples of how to accessorize, but feel free to get creative. Even if you’re sitting at home, wearing just one or two colorful accessories can make you feel better if you’re feeling sluggish or feel like you’re starting to catch cabin fever. Ask a friend to pick out some fun accessories for you if you don’t feel like shopping or buying them online.

Get a pedicure: With your foot in a cast, you will definitely draw attention to your feet and toes, so make sure they look good! A woman should never wear open-toe shoes without polishing her toes, and this includes those who wear a splint. Even if you can’t get a full pedicure on your foot with a splint on, you can still paint it nicely. If you usually get a little color on your toes, have some fun during this time when your toes are always showing. Get funky colors, designs, and rhinestones, or paint each finger a different color. You’re allowed to pamper a little during this time, so have your mom or friend paint your toes for you.

When you have a broken leg or foot, it can definitely be hard to get dressed at all, let alone try to get dressed that looks good.
